Providing railroading opportunities since 1977

The Society is dedicated to preserving railroad history, with an emphasis on railroads that served the Sheboygan area. An ongoing effort was established to collect and catalogue hundreds of historical artifacts that represent various eras of railroading, some dating back more than 100 years. The Railroad Museum has been remodeled to accommodate new historical display areas.

Our Purpose

The Sheboygan Society of Scale Model Railroad Engineers, Ltd. (SSSMRE. Ltd) is a not-for-profit, charitable, historical, technical, and educational, 501(c)3. organization. The intent of the Society is to promote interest in model railroading and to educate the general public about model railroading and the history of prototype railroads. We also
promote the National Model Railroad Association and its activities. Membership is open to any individual subscribing to the purpose of the Society. Donations are both welcomed and tax deductible.

The Society also owns and operates a DCC Computer assisted HO modular layout that travels to numerous venues each year. Clinics on model railroading, demonstrations of various aspects of railroads, and presentations on railroad history can be reserved. New members are always welcome.
